Aquatica - more than just a water park!
SeaWorld's popular water park, Aquatica is a great day out for all the family with a fantastic range of pools, lazy rivers, slides and beaches to keep everyone amused.
But there's more to Aquatica than water thrills. Did you know that Aquatica is also home to a vast range of wildlife. The Commerson Dolphins are the most famous residents. Approximately 5 feet in length and weighing around 100 pounds, these dolphin are fast and agile. Their distinctive black and white colouring makes them look more like small killer whales than dolphins and they are a relative of the killer whale. The Commerson's dolphins can be seen from the transparent slide tube or via the underground viewing area below the pool.
Throughout the park you will also find the colourful Macaws - these social birds are native to the rainforests of Central and South America.
Of course, since it is a water park you would expect to find some fish and Aquatica does not disappoint. The colourful African Cichlids abound.
Guests will encounter a number of what Aquatica calls its Walk-around animal ambassadors. Designed to delight and amaze these include the Giant Anteater, Laughing Kookaburra, Sulcata Tortoise (one of the largest specise of tortoise) and the Roseate Spoonbill (a pink wading bird).
